In a match up destined for greatness, MOBY and THE LOOPS OF FURY have joined forces to create a brand new dancefloor monster - PARA! Bringing the energy of Moby's earliest rave work, Para is equal parts hands-in-the-air piano and furious electro synths. It's a heavy slice of jump around and blissed-out epicness. This is a proper peaktime banger, with soul, and that elusive Moby magic. And it's ready to explode.
We met the guys they answered a few questions AND hit us up with a free DL!
- Where did you meet, and how long are you working together
Jimi: Believe it or not Max and I met playing football in primary school. I played back and Max was the goalie, but we had a really good team so we never got the ball! So we'd hang at the back, and chat about computer stuff. That computer stuff led us to the early trackers for making music, and with a big sister into the rave scene it all kind of clicked and we started making strange techno. It's something we never really stopped doing, and then a few years ago we got serious and started The Loops Of Fury. And now we're here!
- Are you working full time in the music business or do you have part time jobs to pay the rent
Max: We both work full time on the music, but when the going gets tough we have to branch out a little to bring in the extra cash. It so unpredictable when money comes in, you gotta have a backup option at the ready!
- What are your main influences when producing your own tracks / Remixes?
Jimi: On a broad level we take influence from the giants of electronic music like the Chemical Brothers and Prodigy, and also from elements of electro and techno. There is a pretty heavy rave influence with what we have been doing for the last few years too, lots of chopped up diva vocals and detuned stabs, and that crazy vibe! We are always looking forward though, trying new things and avoiding blatant nostalgia. So you could say we write music that sits somewhere between techno and electro, with a rave flavour.
- Your first connection to Moby?
Max: Go. What a tune.
- Your new track and colabboration with Moby is a real floor banger. More colabboration
plans for the future?
Jimi: Yeah Moby was great to work with, everything he sent us had that special something to it which made it an absolute pleasure. We're really proud of being a part of Moby reconnecting with his rave roots and making something really heavy with him. So yeah, we'd definitely be up for working with him in the future!
- Tell us a bit about the new Label
Max: It's basically a good way to get our music out there with minimal hassle. We own all the copyright, we put stuff out exactly how we want it, when we want to. It also allows us to branch out into uncharted territory unhindered. It's the start of a new era!
- We want to see you on stage! What are your favourite festivals and gigs for 2013?
Jimi: We're in Australia at the moment, which is great after the winter freeze of Berlin! It's taking some time to loose the studio tan but I'm working on it! from here we're doing a mini tour of the States, and then back into Europe for summer.
Max: We're playing a boat party on the Sydney harbour this Friday which I'm really looking forward to. Beats, sun, babes and boats. Couldn't ask for more! And also the Perth show in Australia in a couple of weeks, always a great night.
